Job Description

Oversee and coordinate the Day Care, Tribal Preschool, School Age, and the Head start programs to ensure quality comprehensive early care and education services. Supervise the daily operations of the Day Care Center, After School Program and the Head Start Program including the daily performance of staff, financial management, budgeting, maintaining records, policy development, maintenance of building and grounds, meal planning and preparation, transportation, ensuring quality care of children in compliance with certification requirements. Develop systems for maintaining documentation and reporting. Develop and implement short- and long-term goals ensuring coordination in accordance with Tribal, State and Federal guidelines. Research, develop, implement, and monitor grant funding, and tribal budgets. Establish and maintain relationships and collaborate with public school districts, Indian Health Services, other Tribal, state and federal agencies. Participate in the design of internal structure, systems and policies ensuring the health and safety of children. Assure staff adheres to confidentiality. Excellent communication skills, oral and in writing. Strong staff development skills. Knowledge of planning and program development. Team leadership skills. Knowledge of Tribal policies, USDA regulations, and Child Care division Rules for child Care Centers.



Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood or a related field. Five years' experience in an early care or education setting. Three years supervisory and administrative experience. Strong leadership experience. Pass a criminal history background check and enroll in the Criminal History Registry. Conviction of serious felonies and misdemeanors will jeopardize employment. Adhere to drug free workplace policy and be free of dysfunctional use of alcohol and drugs. Adhere to the Smoke-free Work Environment Policy. Valid Oregon driver’s license with insurance and comply with Vehicle Pool Guide Lines. Willing to travel overnight for training. Maintain flexible work hours and attend some evening meetings. Excellent physical and mental condition and able to lift to 50 pounds. Certified in CPR and First Aid.
