Configuration Management Specialist (Intermediate)

Personnel Qualifications:

  • At least seven (7) years of experience as a Configuration Manager.
  • At least seven (7) years of experience and knowledge based on, but not limited, to one or more of the following skills: creation of configuration management identification, status accounting, creation of configuration change boards and auditing.
  • Experience with ITIL configuration management preferred.

Capabilities:

  • Responsible for configuration management planning.
  • Describes provisions for configuration identification, change control, configuration status accounting and configuration audits.
  • Identifies and maintains the original configuration of requirements documentation, design documentation, software, and related documentation.
  • Responsible for configuration change control.
  • Regulates the change process so that only approved and validated changes are incorporated into product documents and related software.
  • Responsible for configuration status accounting.
  • Tracks all problems and changes in product documents and software and reports changes and current configuration. Responsible for configuration audits.
  • Supports audits to verify that requirements of all baselines have been met by the as-built software.
  • Supports software quality assurance process audits.
  • Perform as build manager.
  • Serve as the point of contact for all production migrations.
  • Ensure that the migration instructions are complete.
  • Work closely with the developers, functional analysts and the team leads to ensure that all documentation within change management tool is complete.
  • Understands best business practices for Configuration Management, the five elements of CM within COTs, ERPs, and custom developed applications.
