Job Description
The Compliance Auditing Intern will work directly with customers, department managers, operations, and corporate teams to support the day-to-day administration of the company’s compliance initiatives. The primary focus of this role is to actively identify and implement functional improvements to our processes, while enforcing customer requirements, corporate policies and procedures and implementing best practices throughout the enterprise.
This position is responsible for maintaining, improving, and increasing compliance performance in many areas of the business.
Essential Job Duties
- Serve as a liaison between customers, agents, and managers for compliance-related items
- Prepare agendas, documents, and maintain action items and follow up
- Provide support to leadership, relative to compliance through any processes or systems available
- Assist in developing, implementing, and sustaining a comprehensive, proactive Compliance Program
- Review (external) scorecards and performance reports that are distributed by our customers on a regular basis
- Provide data analytics / management reporting:
- Identify Key Performance Indicators
- Create and generate regularly scheduled reports
- Monitor report findings, displaying adherence to corrective processes and procedures
- Compile, maintain, and distribute appropriate statistics and reports
- Help monitor and control compliance performance, including but not limited to:
- Data Entry and documentation requirements
- Billing accuracy and billing delay
- Customer status, reporting, tracking, and billing compliance requirements
- Identify opportunities for procedural improvement, provide recommendations and execute suggestions
- Utilize metrics analytics to identify opportunities for improvement, training, and procedure coaching
- Coordinate refresher training
- Support the compliance awareness, communication, and education programs
Required Qualifications
- Current post-secondary student, entering their Junior or Senior year, pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business Administration
- Completed courses in Accounting, Finance, or Microsoft Excel
- Strong typing skills and technically savvy
- Excellent Computer skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point
- Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Detail-oriented and demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
- Effective communicator with both technical and business audience
- Ability to work on several projects and assignments simultaneously
- Ability to work and learn independently and collaboratively within a team
- Excellent time management
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a professional office environment
- Auditing experience
