Medical Assistant

Responsibilities:

• Escorting and preparing patients for examinations, including obtaining vitals, medical history, and reason for visit, and documenting into EMR system.
• Providing your own stethoscope for use during examinations.
• Assisting physicians during examinations and performing minor procedures such as wound care, suture removal, and sterile tray setup.
• Drawing and administering injections, performing phlebotomy.
• Conducting in-office testing and explaining medical procedures to patients.
• Instructing patients on medication and special diets.
• Collecting laboratory specimens and maintaining exam rooms with adequate medical supplies.
• Ensuring instruments are properly maintained, sterilized, and disposing of contaminated supplies.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a medical assistant training program or certification.
• Previous experience in a hospital or medical setting preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
• Knowledge of basic medical procedures and terminology.
• Basic life support certification required.
• Proficiency in computer skills and electronic health record systems.

Education and Experience:

• Thorough education and training in medical terminology.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience.
• Specialized training in Medical Assisting.
• Certification as a Medical Assistant.
• Current CPR Certificate.
• Attention to detail and thoroughness in completing work tasks.
