Job Description
Burgos Group is seeking a Site Superintendent to work on a Federal Government Heavy Civil and Road Repair project located at Fort Johnson, LA. Travel expenses will be reimbursed. Must be able to pass a Federal background check.
The Site Superintendent will direct, manage, supervise and coordinate all work on the project inclusive of all trades, subcontractors and equipment operators to meet the work requirements as described in the plans and specifications.
Responsibilities include:
· Coordinate and supervise all construction activities;
· Direct all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to plans and specifications;
· Maintain construction schedule, identify and solve problems;
· Order materials and schedule inspections as necessary throughout the process;
· Understand the project plans and specifications;
· Maintain positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and other employees;
· Prepare, schedule and supervise completion of a final punch list;
· Promote job site safety, encourage safe work practices and rectify job site hazards immediately;
· Ensure all company employees and contractors are adhering to the company safety policy;
· Maintain an organized job site, including the construction office;
· Review qualifications of subcontractors;
· Collaborate with Quality Control and Site Safety counterparts to ensure coordination between areas of responsibility;
· In addition to the accountabilities above, other responsibilities, tasks, and deliverables may be assigned to the position.
· Minimum of 10 years of construction experience with at least 5 of those years as a superintendent on similar projects;
· The ability to communicate in written and oral formats with diplomacy and tact;
· Demonstrated knowledge of contract compliance in government construction;
· Successful track record in effectively engaging with subcontractors;
· Competent in using Microsoft Office products, email systems, and Windows.
· Must have an instructor-signed OSHA 30-hour training card.
· Must be familiar with the requirements of EM 385-1-1 and have experience in the areas of hazard identification and safety compliance.
· Must be capable of interpreting a critical path schedule and construction drawings.
