ALL-Ways Engineering is seeking an experienced Texas Department of Transportation Project Manager/Senior Engineer to join us at our San Antonio office. Our focus is highway and roadway planning and design.


What you bring:

  • Bachelor of Civil Engineering, P.E. License, 8+ years of relevant experience minimum
  • Project Management experience on TxDOT projects is required, with experience in managing and growing a design team preferred. Winning, contracting and successfully delivering of projects.
  • Proposal preparation experience,preferred.
  • Contract management and billing to achieve profit goals.
  • Strong design knowledge in transportation is required.
  • Prepare written technical proposals, assemble teams to meet client criteria, and develop professional relationships.
  • This position requires a demonstrated leader with a broad knowledge of transportation and the processes required to develop design packages utilizing state design standards.
  • Manage a team of designers, technicians, project engineers, and sub-consultants for successful project completion.
  • Will be required to train and develop staff.
  • Responsible for project delivery of complete transportation design packages including coordination/oversight of multiple design disciplines.
  • Duties include oversight of the preparation of plans, technical specifications, quantity takeoffs, and construction estimates in accordance with state design manuals and standard drawings.
  • Experience utilizing AASHTO, Texas MUTCD, and TxDOT standards.

 

Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) in TX required.
  • 2 years of task management or Deputy PM experience.Texas Department of Transportation Pre-Certifications required.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with Open Roads and Open Bridge Designer (Preferred), MicroStation, ProjectWise, Bluebeam.
  • Experience utilizing TxDOT Connect for project tracking and documentation.
  • Excellent communication and technical writing skills
  • “Seller/Doer” capabilities and experience
  • Technical understanding of highway/roadway design standards including horizontal and vertical geometrics, drainage, utilities, traffic signals, signing, lighting, erosion and sediment control practices, stormwater management, and specifications

 

Performance Expectations:

  • Mentor and train staff.
  • Train adequate backup personnel to support your role in your absence.
  • Develop and maintain customer relationships by soliciting monthly performance
  • feedback, identifying client needs, and identifying the next project.
  • Comply with all All-Ways Engineering policies and procedures.
  • Manage the work routine of all assigned staff and assign job activities as required.
  • Complete other duties as required/assigned.
  • Provide input to develop project-specific safety plans implement project safety plans and ensure compliance with all Federal, state, and local safety rules and regulations.
  • Report monthly proposal results to the operations manager.
  • Achieve or exceed budgeted individual utilization target (75%-80% typical)
  • Attend meetings with the project team on projects/tasks.
  • Chart and provide project performance results.
  • Consult and coordinate with other practices and sub-consultants as required.
  • Deliver all projects on time and within budget while fully meeting the scope.
  • Meet monthly with the practice leader to review project performance.
  • Operate within specified project budget parameters.
  • Prepare and submit monthly project completion reports.
  • Prepare monthly progress reports/updates for all projects to the practice leader.
  • Prepare monthly project staff utilization plan.
  • Propose and negotiate scope, schedule, and fee estimates for tasks and projects.
  • Provide monthly WIP/AR comments to the operations manager.
  • Prepare preliminary concept designs and submit them for approval.
  • Read and interpret technical documents required for project execution.

  • Office hours on-site are Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional overtime as needed to meet project demands.
  • $5,000 sign-on bonus (payable at 3, 6 and 12 months)
  • Excellent compensation, bonuses bringing compensation up to $120,000 to $145,000 per year or more. Depending on the level of experience
