DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for the packaging and shipment of materials, supplies, and products. Perform basic administrative, clerical, operational and computational tasks. Decisions are limited to defined parameters around work expectations, quality standards, priorities, and timing. Works under close supervision and/or within established policies/practices and guidelines with minimal opportunity for deviation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Gathers, verifies, and packs items for shipment according to specifications and established procedures
  • Ensures each order receives the correct paperwork, packing and shipping labels
  • Ensures that all boxes are correctly sealed, and printers are accurately loaded with the correct paper
  • Accurately packages boxes requiring special handling according to specific process and policy requirements
  • Correctly sorts packages for specific ship type to correct locations
  • Typically works on routine and patterned assignments
  • Works collaboratively with all co-workers to ensure that best practices are shared while maintaining productivity and quality standards
  • Comply with applicable environmental, health and safety laws and regulations, Company policy and accepted safe work practices
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Computer Proficient (MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook etc.)
  • Working knowledge of ERP software preferred (Epicor preferred)
  • Six months inventory and warehousing experience preferred
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to stand on feet for 8-10 hours a day
  • Forklift operator certificate a plus
