POSITION SUMMARYReporting to the Branch Operations Manager, the Operations Specialist is responsible for the efficient daily operation of the distribution branch's warehousing functions; including but not limited to: WMS order release management, driver dispatch, GPS reporting, and inventory control in accordance with the Company's objectives.

Schedule: Monday - Friday from 7:30am - 4:00pm + rotating Saturday's. Schedules are subject to change based on business needs.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Accurately assigning drivers to routes.
  • Providing accurate and organized customer documentation.
  • Creating cycle count groups to initiate cycle counting.
  • Monitor order release times and release orders to the floor for picking in an efficient manner.
  • Communication to the 1st shift supervisor in regards to dispatch and order release.
  • Maintaining an organized process in daily duties.
  • Ensures that workplace health and safety requirements are followed.
  • Maintains housekeeping of warehouse and surrounding area.
  • Leads by example & works in a fast, safe & efficient manner.
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.
  • Maintain quality service by following organization standards
  • Participate in departmental meetings and special projects
  • Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk, hear, taste and/or smell; the employee must occasionally lift products weighing up to approximately 80 pounds. Handling of tires (e.g., rolling, destacking, team lifting) greater than approximately 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Protective equipment required: steel or composite toe boots, safety vest, harness, seatbelt, SRL (self-retracting lifeline). All equipment is provided by U.S. AutoForce except for steel / composite toe boots.
  • Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Fumes associated with tires and occasionally car parts and lubricants prevalent.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience

  • BA/BA degree in Supply Chain Management/Operations and/or similar field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • 2 years of experience in the field or in a related area
  • Tire/Auto industry knowledge preferred

Language and Communication Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, management, and other employees.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to all team members and levels within the organization.

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Abilities

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Travel
