What you'll be doing...

The Verizon Security Assistance Team (VSAT) is responsible for ensuring all Legal demand (i.e., subpoenas, summons, court orders and search warrants) are handled confidentially and in compliance with all company policies and applicable laws. In addition to responding to legal requests, VSAT also provides educational presentations for law enforcement to further demonstrate our commitment to public safety.

The Supervisor - Security Operations position is part of the Subpoena Compliance Team within the Verizon Security Assistance Team (VSAT) reporting into Corporate Security. The primary mission of the Verizon Corporate Security Organization is to ensure the safety and security of Verizon employees. The Supervisor is accountable for meeting and exceeding operational business metrics; strictly following all safeguarding of customer information/business records; ensuring all Federal and State laws as well as Verizon policies and procedures are followed; and providing a five-star customer experience.

  • Leading a team of analysts, provide guidance, coaching, knowledge, tools and training to perform their job functions.

  • Recruiting, mentoring and developing analysts and nurturing an environment where they can excel through encouragement and empowerment.

  • Applying policies, procedures, and guidelines appropriately and setting the example for communication skills, work ethic, and sound judgment.

  • Adapting technology initiatives, and becoming the subject matter expert on these new technologies, leading and teaching the team the technical aspects.

  • Developing, implementing and maintaining systems, procedures and policies by leveraging technology knowledge to drive simplification efforts.

  • Maintaining the highest quality of service by monitoring employee/law enforcement interactions to ensure quantitative and qualitative objectives are met.

  • Developing appropriate performance metrics that are aggressive, yet achievable.

  • Analyzing data and leveraging tools that provide actionable insights that drive performance, productivity and optimal efficiency.

  • Tracking and reporting actual metric results to the team, and providing input on areas for improvement when necessary.

  • Exercising judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

  • Reviewing and responding to complex issues and questions.

  • Analyzing statistics and preparing reports for management.

  • Collaborating cross-functionally to analyze needs and develop innovative solutions.

  • Ensuring the highest level of confidentiality is enforced and followed.

What we're looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Experience working in a technical environment with a record of progressive leadership responsibilities.

  • Experience leading a team.

  • Operational experience.

  • Willingness to travel and work flexible shifts (i.e., evenings, weekends and/or holidays).

  • Eligibility to apply for, obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance with the willingness to adhere to all ongoing requirements to maintain cleared status as it is a requirement of the position.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • A degree.

  • Knowledge of VSAT operations and key goals/objectives.

  • Supervising experience.

  • The ability to act with a sense of urgency.

  • A strong detail orientation.

  • Experience with VSAT systems.

  • Excellent demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proven track record of building strong cross functional working relationships.

  • Demonstrated ability to execute and meet deadlines in short and changing timelines.

  • Experience creating Root Cause Analysis reviews and recommendations.

  • Ability to think strategically and to lead.

  • Advanced troubleshooting and multitasking.
