Job Overview:

The buyer is responsible for purchasing goods and services from suppliers. This position requires extensive research and the ability to negotiate contracts with suppliers, manage an inventory, evaluate quality goods and stick within a budget.

Responsibilities and Duties Required
  • Plan and execute procurement of raw materials, purchase parts and services from global suppliers.
  • Maintain strong working relationships and communications with manufacturing and key suppliers to confirm production/shipping schedules and monitor open purchase orders for all orders to ensure on-time deliveries.
  • Report product and material availability issues in a proactive manner.
  • Manage all supply and demand in ERP system, IFS.
  • Ensure all quality clauses and terms/conditions are flowed down.
  • Coordinate inventory planning and replenishment of raw materials and components.
  • Supplier Management: RFQ, cost saving initiatives, negotiations, supplier relationship/evaluation.
  • Maintain accurate inventory part master data, example; lead times, batch size, safety stock target, etc. to ensure 100% system data accuracy.
  • Expedite or de-expedite product as required, ensuring material availability.
  • Advise planning of current order priorities and shipments.
  • Conform to the company's culture of quality, service, and continuous improvement, while taking personal responsibility for one's own actions, treating fellow employees, customers, and vendors respectfully and ethically.
  • Audit suppliers on a periodic basis within conformity of our Quality Manual standards.
  • Monitor and maintain KPI's that are displayed in ERP system, IFS lobbies.
  • Monitor and maintain standard cost versus actual on a regular basis.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications and Skills Required
  • 3+ years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business, operations or supply chain; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must possess excellent time management skills.
  • Long term agreement negotiations skills.
  • Must possess great attention to detail.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Supply Chain concepts and application.
  • Must possess strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Must possess effective negotiation skills.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal and communications skills (oral & written).
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently under pressure and react quickly to changing priorities.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills, ability to balance short term priorities and exceptional information analysis skills are a necessity.
  • All task directions and work directives will be provided in English. Employees engaged in work efforts or projects will be expected to communicate in English.
  • APICS CPIM/CSCP, CPSM certification completed or in progress, preferred.
