Overview
The Center for the School of the Future (CSF) is searching for a Learning Science Specialist (Instructional Designer III) to support the learning systems, multi-media, data, video capture, and technology needs of CSF and its clients, and toward achievement of CSF's learning focused mission. The Learning Science Specialist will provide project leadership to CSF's efforts in on-line learning and in other areas where instructional design and learning sciences are utilized in the center. Additionally, the Learning Science Specialist will mentor other CSF team members and clients in instructional design and effective use of learning science. This position is contingent upon funding.

Responsibilities
Learning Systems Development, Management and Assessment
Engage with CSF leadership and CSF clients to identify learning system goals and objectives, engineer learning systems to achieve them, oversee system development, and then lead and manage these systems to evolve over time and assess their overall impact as they evolve.
Learning Related Data Systems Development, Security, and Analysis
Work with CSF leadership and CSF clients to identify data system needs, develop data system objectives, and engineer systems to achieve them. The incumbent will oversee system development, and then lead and manage these systems to evolve over time and assess their overall impact as they evolve.
Graphic Design and Multi-Media Development and Assessment
Work with CSF leadership and CSF clients to develop aesthetically value adding multi-media products, including video to leverage CSF and its clients toward achievement of their learning focused missions.
Futurist Learning Demand and Promising Technologies Scanning and Reporting
The incumbent will continuously conduct and report on wide ranging investigations of educational and non-educational industries and fields to identify existing and developing policies, practices, technologies, and other forms of innovation which may produce high returns on investment toward CSF and its client's K-12 learning missions.

- Develop synchronous and asynchronous learning systems using learning principles grounded in research.
- Develop and manage learning assessment technologies.
- Provides instructional design expertise.
Learning Related Data Systems Development, Security, and Analysis
Work with CSF leadership and CSF clients to identify data system needs, develop data system objectives, and engineer systems to achieve them. The incumbent will oversee system development, and then lead and manage these systems to evolve over time and assess their overall impact as they evolve.
- Develop, manage, and assess secure databases, and assist in the analysis of large databases.
- Develop and assess learning focused websites.
Graphic Design and Multi-Media Development and Assessment
Work with CSF leadership and CSF clients to develop aesthetically value adding multi-media products, including video to leverage CSF and its clients toward achievement of their learning focused missions.
- Develop and use graphic design and multi-media to support CSF, and its clients in achieving their learning related missions.
- Capture video samples of effective instruction related to projects within the Center and embed these on the CSF website, and within course management systems such as Canvas.
Futurist Learning Demand and Promising Technologies Scanning and Reporting
The incumbent will continuously conduct and report on wide ranging investigations of educational and non-educational industries and fields to identify existing and developing policies, practices, technologies, and other forms of innovation which may produce high returns on investment toward CSF and its client's K-12 learning missions.
- Actively engage CSF and its clients in looking to the future for a wide range of technologies to increase attainment of K-12 learning outcomes and increase efficiency in attaining these outcomes.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in instructional technology and learning sciences or related field plus four years of experience or master's degree in instructional technology and learning sciences and two years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 7+ years of successful experience working in K-12 and higher education arenas.
- 7+ years of successful employment working in instructional technology and learning sciences.
- Large data base development, management, security, and analysis experience.
- Graphic design and multi-media development and assessment experience.
- Demonstrated leadership of large-scale projects that have resulted in measured improvements, and high-level returns on investment for K-12 age, or adult learning.
- Experience in looking across industries and disciplines for technologies which may be adopted and adapted to improve adult and k-12 student learning.
- Experience with video capturing in educational settings, and editing and targeted dissemination of these products, and including use in course management systems (e.g., Canvas).
