What you'll do:

As a Solution Engineer you will work in and across multiple teams, helping your colleagues overcome the most difficult engineering challenges they face. SEs spend most of their time with hands on keys working on the most challenging problems their teams face especially proving feasibility and patterns, you also spend time helping others make tradeoffs. You will help your teams design tests to validate assumptions and tradeoffs of different solution options. You will mentor senior engineers, teaching them skills that will in turn help them mentor others more effectively. Solution Engineers are advanced, technical experts with 10 years of experience in leading development projects of significant scope and scale, requiring deep solution knowledge and confidence within the engineering space.

Here are a few of the key responsibilities you will be a part of :
  • Determine solutions for the difficult challenges our Firm faces from a technical perspective ; analyzing complex systems to problem solve for these challenges.
  • Collaborate across entire product teams, working with product managers, scrum masters, developers, etc. within a matrixed product team.
  • Influence how our most challenging technical problems are solved.
  • Ensure Product Teams are equipped to deal with the most difficult engineering challenges they face.
  • Participate in multiple large and complex efforts or projects.
  • Mentor and help develop other mentors by teaching experienced engineers how to pass on their skills more.
What Experience You'll Need :
• Bachelor's degree and/or related work experience
• 10+ years of experience in a variety of technical fields including software and infrastructure engineering, including :
  • A deep understanding of operating critical & enterprise hardened production systems. A deep understanding of Observability to reduce toil and improve MTTR during incidents.
  • Fluent in multiple programming languages and development stacks. Knowledgeable of multiple systems to design more resilient and maintainable solutions. Strong expertise in Java or JavaScript required.
  • Expert in test automation with demonstrated mastery of code level unit and integration tests. Responsibility includes mastery over various strategies of how to test complex and distributed systems through automation.
  • Expert in design patterns, Domain Driven Design and scalable Microservices. Experience with distributed caching, event-driven and streaming frameworks preferred.
  • Experienced in designing and building highly scalable, distributed & secure solutions that run in a cloud environment such as Azure.
  • Experienced in both relational and non-relational data stores.

***Candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with a preference for Tuesday through Thursday.***
