Summary/Objective

The Digital Marketing Manager role requires an innovative individual who will be responsible for process development, implementation, and management of the BJCC’s owned media channels – social media, email database, websites, and out of home signage. The role will be responsible for generating the strategy and creative assets to support internal and external initiatives, along with general marketing support across all performances, special events and activities across the BJCC’s venues, including Protective Stadium, Legacy Arena, BJCC Concert Hall, BJCC Theatre and Convention Center / Exhibit Halls.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

Demonstrates understanding and full performance ability in each of the following:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Owns the development, management, and implementation of a comprehensive digital strategy all social media accounts, websites, electronic newsletters/eblasts, venue signage, and digital/print signage across all venues based on defined goals and benchmarks.
  • Creates and curates compelling content that aligns with the brand voice and resonates with the target audience for social media, websites, signage, sales proposals, presentations, and other digital/print assets as needed. Mediums include video/reels, still photography, and graphic/infographic assets.
  • Works closely with the sales team to align marketing initiatives with overall business objectives.
  • Manages and collaborates with external creative/marketing agencies as warranted across social media and website to execute integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Analyzes and reports on the effectiveness of promotional campaigns, adjusting strategies as needed to optimize results.
  • Covers events for social media content as required.
  • Performs other duties as required.

SOCIAL MEDIA

  • Creates and manages a digital content calendar within a content management platform (SproutSocial) to efficiently operate multiple channels across multiple venues.
  • Manages community engagement as “the BJCC voice” by monitoring online reputation and responding to guest inquiries and comments across BJCC and Protective Stadium social platforms to cultivate an active and positive online community.
  • Implements tactics to increase the number of followers across all social media channels.
  • Assists with paid advertising and other growth strategies to expand the brand's social media presence.
  • Monitors social media trends, tracks performance metrics, and adjusts strategy accordingly to maximize reach and impact.

EMAIL DATABASE

  • Oversees the email marketing strategy and execution, including the creation of targeted campaigns, newsletters, and promotions.
  • Manages and segments the email database for personalized and effective communication.
  • Implements strategies to grow the subscriber base through lead generation, opt-in campaigns, and other initiatives.

WEBSITES

  • Ensures websites (Protective Stadium and BJCC) are up to date with accurate and compelling content that reflects the brand identity.
  • Collaborates with contracted web developer to implement improvements and enhancements.
  • Monitors website analytics, user behavior, and conversion rates to optimize the user experience.
  • Oversees the strategic management and utilization of BJCC's out-of-home owned assets, including, but not limited to, billboards, and in-venue signage.
  • Monitors and optimizes the performance of out-of-home campaigns to maximize visibility and impact.

Work Environment
This environment is fast paced and moderately demanding. Work is typically performed indoors, in a temperature-controlled office setting.

Physical Demands

Duties require extended periods of sitting. Limited amount of physical effort such as walking, standing, climbing, bending, stooping, squatting, and kneeling. Ability to lift up to 30lbs with or without assistance, while maintaining good balance. Must be flexible enough to reach above shoulder level and be able to push and pull for brief periods of time. Visual acuity, speech recognition, and speech clarity.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Normally, Monday-Friday regular business hours. Requires ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays as determined by event marketing demands.

Required Education and Experience

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Marketing or Public Relations in the entertainment industry, related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Marketing, Public Relations, or related field or similar experience.
  • Valid State of Alabama Driver License.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
  • Passion for live entertainment industry is a must.
  • Entertainment / live event experience a plus.
  • Must be able to collaborate and work effectively within a small team operating at a fast pace.
  • Experience creating growth strategies on social media & email platforms and building followers with proven results.
  • Experience with digital/social media planning and placement.
  • Experience designing, capturing, and editing professional, engaging, and compelling social and web content, to include graphics and video, with a supporting portfolio.
  • Proficiency with CapCut, Adobe Creative Suite, and other content editing applications required.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to measure and report on campaign effectiveness.
  • Experience working in SproutSocial or similar social content management platform.
  • General familiarity with web design & maintenance (WordPress).
  • A strong creative skillset and eye for visual composition.
  • Proficiency with required desktop publishing tools, including Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Proficiency with SEO/SEM, and Google Analytics optimization.
  • Proficiency in Mailchimp, or similar email marketing platforms.
  • Experience with data tracking methods, including pixel placement.
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to give and receive constructive criticism.
  • Must be a "Self-Starter" with the ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Strong communication and writing skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks with excellent time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point)
  • Ability to strategically and critically think, use good judgment, problem solve, plan and coordinate programs.
