Job Summary – This position is responsible for receiving of all ingredients into the feed mill and inventory of feed for shipment.   This position will provide necessary reports to key personnel regarding ingredient and feed inventories, ensuring payment of invoices and testing of grain delivered to the feed mill for quality.

Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities

  • Receiving and weighing of all truck delivering ingredients to the feed mill, both on arrival and when leaving.
  • Collect samples of grain from trucks, test for moisture and weight, grade of grain for use in feed meal.  Take extra samples to be submitted for testing at the Feed Lab in Goldsboro.  Log all results and maintain.
  • Maintain log of deliveries into the feed mill on a daily basis.  Distribute as needed to appropriate personnel. 
  • Data entry of Receiving information to scales and M-tech Programs. 
  • Data entry of all tickets into the M-Tech program, matching with Purchase Orders for payment.
  • Track bin inventory and variances for grain and maintain measurements in the Repeat System.
  • Insure proper payment of invoices through direct contact with accounting.
  • Print, copy and distribute all tickets to Accounting and Grain Purchasing Area for processing.
  • Maintain report of totals of Grain and Commodity Shipments to Grain Manager and Commodity Manager using Microsoft Excel.
  • Clean and maintain Grain Testing Equipment

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Proficiency in MS Office, with advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficiency in the use of a computer based Feed Delivery System, preferably M-Tech Software. 
  • Ability to professionally deal with the growers, public, vendors and associates at all times. 
  • Must possess excellent communication, organization and time-management skills.   

Education & Experience: 

Associate's degree or equivalent from a two year college or technical school, preferred or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands:

This position will require the ability to use a computer and other office equipment.

Work Environment:

This position will be in an office environment.
