Job Description:
As the Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the business, providing strategic guidance to leadership, and ensuring operational excellence. Your role will encompass a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:
- Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and analyze financial statements tailored to the steel fabrication industry, offering insights into key financial metrics to drive profitability.
- Cost Accounting: Implement and manage cost accounting systems to accurately track and allocate costs, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Project Cost Management: Collaborate with project managers to develop and monitor project budgets, ensuring accurate project accounting and profitability analysis.
- Inventory Management: Maintain optimal inventory levels and implement appropriate valuation methods, conducting regular reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process, prepare financial forecasts, and monitor performance against budget, recommending corrective actions as necessary.
- Cash Flow Management: Manage cash flow to support daily operations and capital investments, optimizing cash utilization and minimizing working capital requirements.
- Compliance and Regulatory Reporting: Ensure compliance with industry regulations and reporting requirements, staying informed of changes and implementing necessary procedures.
- Internal Controls and Risk Management: Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets, identifying and mitigating financial risks associated with operations.
- ERP Systems Management: Oversee the implementation and utilization of ERP systems, providing training and support to staff on system functionality.
- Leadership and Team Development: Lead a team of accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture focused on continuous improvement.
SALARY: $80,000 - $120,000
BENEFITS OFFERED:
Healthcare Benefits: Medical offered at no cost to the employee + $1500 per year to a Health Savings Account (HSA). No dental or vision insurance offered at this time.
Other Insurance: Company paid Life Insurance policy.
Retirement Plan: Company matches up to 4% to 401K, available after 1 year of employment.
PTO: 10 days per year of employment, Eligible the following January after hire.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in a financial management role, preferably in the manufacturing or steel fabrication industry.
- Strong technical skills in financial reporting, cost accounting, and budgeting.
- Hands-on management style with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, blue-collar environment.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with a track record of team development and mentorship.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
