Schedule: The hours would generally be 7:00 a.m. through 3:30 p.m., and they would have the flexibility to work outside of that if they needed time on equipment before or after production. They would just need to communicate this to ownership.

Salary Range: $25.00-$30.00/hr.

PURPOSE
Under direct supervision, performs routine servicing and rebuilding of a variety of production machinery and equipment. Must have strong analytical abilities. Fills role as production floor foreman ensuring the Plant Manager’s directives are carried out.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs routine servicing of production machinery and equipment including systems for air handling, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical; ensures that preventative maintenance programs are followed.
  • Performs routine rebuilding of machinery and equipment when more extensive maintenance is required.
  • Troubleshoots machinery and equipment malfunctions and replaces defective parts.
  • Will perform facilities maintenance.
  • Plans and paces own work efficiency to meet daily, weekly, project, or team-related productivity goals.
  • Responds attentively to training from the plant manager and other maintenance technicians to increase their own knowledge of maintenance and repair processes.
  • Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices to prevent injury to self or co-workers; attends periodic safety meetings as required; may recommend changes to improve safety procedures.
  • Other duties may be assigned. 

COMPETENCIES

  • Knowledge of and ability to use hand and power tools
  • Manual dexterity
  • Experience in trouble-shooting machinery malfunctions
  • Ability to communicate with part suppliers and manufactures
  • Basic computer skills 
  • Knowledge of safety procedures while performing maintenance tasks
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
  • Ability to read and understand machine and equipment diagrams and system schematics
  • Ability to communicate directions clearly and effectively to a production team. 

 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
 2 plus years related experience; or equivalent combination experience. 
 Experience within a small to mid-sized privately owned production manufacturer as a Maintenance Mechanic is preferred.

  • Work is performed within a production manufacturing environment, subject to temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, mechanical parts, increased noise levels, and dust. 
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently and on occasion up to 80 pounds.
  • May be required to perform specific tasks that involve climbing, lifting, pushing, or kneeling.
