Essential Job Functions for Billing and Collections Director:

· As Billing and Collections Manager, you'll oversee patient account functions, ensuring adherence to procedures and efficient billing processes.

· You'll collaborate with billing services and prepare reports for revenue cycle analysis and improvement.

· Your role includes setting internal goals, ensuring compliance with regulations, and reviewing contracts.

· Additionally, you'll find cost-saving solutions, handle complaints, and supervise staff according to organizational policies.

· You may also respond to public health emergencies as part of the organization's Strategic Health Plan.

· As the Billing and Collections Manager, you'll oversee patient account functions from start to finish, ensuring proper collection procedures and billing accuracy.

· You'll collaborate with billing services, prepare reports, and establish goals for process improvement.

· Compliance with regulations, contract reviews, and insurance credentialing will be key responsibilities.

· Additionally, you'll handle staff supervision, resolving complaints, and maintaining alignment with organizational practices and legal standards.

Responsibilities for Billing and Collections Director:

· In this role, you'll primarily oversee patient account management, ensuring adherence to collection procedures and policies.

· You'll collaborate with billing services to maintain efficient billing and coding processes, while also analysing metrics to refine operations.

· Additionally, you'll play a key role in setting internal goals and ensuring compliance with external regulations.

· You'll identify areas for cost savings and resolve business-related complaints. Supervisory duties include hiring, training, and addressing employee concerns.

· Finally, you'll be prepared to respond to public health emergencies as needed.

· Your skills will be crucial in maintaining effective communication and fostering positive relationships across diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities for Revenue Cycle Manager:

· As the Billing and Collections Manager, you'll oversee all aspects of patient account management from entry to settlement.

· You'll ensure proper collection procedures for aged accounts and work with billing services to maintain compliance with policies and procedures.

· Your role involves preparing reports and metrics on revenue cycle status, setting goals, and identifying areas for improvement.

· You'll coordinate reimbursement efforts and assist in fee schedule reviews. Additionally, you'll monitor regulations and implement changes related to billing and coding.

· Your responsibilities also include supervising billing staff, handling complaints, and ensuring adherence to organizational policies and laws.

Education/Experience:

· Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field required. Significant revenue cycle experience can substitute for the degree.

· Minimum 3-10 years of experience in medical billing, coding, and collections, with knowledge of CPT, ICD-9/ICD-10, HCPC coding, and medical terminology.

· Understanding of managed care products (HMO, PPO, etc.) and insurance laws/regulations.

· Preferred experience with provider insurance credentialing and in Federally Qualified Health Centres (FQHCs).

License/Certification:

· Valid Louisiana Driver's License.

· Certified Coder certification highly preferred.
