Job Description
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry or other closely-related STEM field and 0-3 years’ experience
Experienced with Microsoft Office suite for communication and data entry. Great attention to detail with testing and data entry.
Capable of independently operating designated machines, analytical tools, and assembling small scale electromechanical devices.
Demonstrated ability to fabricate mechanical and/or electrical test fixtures and methods for unique, product specific applications.
Research and Development technician supporting product development of innovative products by providing laboratory technical expertise in operation of laboratory equipment used to design consumer products.
Independently operate designated machines that may include analytical balances, meters, hand tools, soldering irons, personal computer, and special laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, environmental chambers, 3D printers, and specialized prototype tooling, creating SOPs/Engineering Test Plans (ETP) when necessary.
Conduct testing & record data. Document & communicate test results. Maintain test equipment and equipment logbooks.
Investigate product failures through disassembly and characterization of subsystems and discreet components.
Troubleshoot test equipment. Maintain hand tools and keep the lab orderly.
Supports continuous improvement and technical investigations.
Fabricate test fixtures and methods for unique, product specific applications. Assist with the design of specialized test equipment and development of operating procedures.
Assemble small scale products for testing which may include electrical and chemical components.
Familiarity with quality systems such as GMP/GLP
Generate & review laboratory data for accuracy, adherence to lab procedures and completeness.
Maintain the appropriate lab related documentation to align with the Altria Quality Requirements Manual and associated regulations.
Participate on cross-functional technical teams in support of company projects.
Maintain product/prototype inventory. #ZR
