Industrial Engineer Co-Op - Fall 2024

Job Description:

WORK LOCATION: San Luis Obispo, CA

This is a fall 2024 co-op, beginning in June, ending in December.

Core Purpose:
The purpose of this co-op is to support process improvement projects to help the San Luis Obispo site to attain higher levels of safety, quality and productivity.

In this role, you will:

• Evaluate and measure process performance

• Identify root causes of poor process performance

• Prove the causes, develop countermeasures to mitigate causes, implement mitigating actions in a timely manner, check if the mitigations worked, standardize the improvements.

• Work cross-functionally and independently on department-driven project and objectives

You're a good fit if you have:

• General understanding of processes and controls

• Mechanical aptitude

• People and teamwork oriented

• Problem solving skills

• Some knowledge of data analysis

Desired Majors:
Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, graduating in December 2024, or 2025-2026

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to manipulate mechanical assemblies and objects of 25 lb.

• Mobility to be able to investigate and observe shop floor activities.

Your success will be measured by:

People and Teamwork - Collaborative interaction with both R&D and Operations team members . Work with the team to define goals and tasks. Recognizes teammates as they perform well and try to help those that are struggling.

Creativity and Innovation - Be proactive about collaborating with the teams and peers, offering input, and learning from their experiences. Consistently strive for improvement.
