THE POSITION

Are you a driven and energetic individual, looking to pursue a career as a Mail Production Operator with the Bureau of Motor Vehicles? In this position you will be processing computer generated mail output on various Bell & Howell automated mail inserting machines such as Automatic In-Line Mailing system and Mailstar 500 inserting equipment so that Department customers can receive materials mandated by the Motor Vehicle Code. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Mail Production Operator, you will be responsible for programing machines as part of your daily start-up procedures. You will operate Bell & Howell Aims equipment which includes loading equipment with specific continuous form output, cut sheet output, letsets, titles. and corresponding inserts for that output. You will read verification reports to match output and keep machine bins filled with card stock, envelopes, and like materials, and verify that work coming off the machine is correct. Additional duties involve performing minor machine repairs and adjustments, and loading mail on carts and transports loaded carts to assigned area within Mail processing.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Mail Production Assistant; or
  • One year of clerical experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

This position is subject to the promotion provisions of a collective bargaining agreement or memorandum of understanding.
