Position Summary: The Director of Revenue Cycle is responsible for managing and optimizing all aspects of the revenue cycle process to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement for services rendered. This role is ONSITE in Louisville, KY. This leadership role oversees the patient registration, charge capture, coding, billing, claims processing, and collections functions within the organization. The Director of Revenue Cycle collaborates with various departments to develop and implement strategies to improve revenue cycle performance, maximize revenue, and minimize denials and bad debt.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement revenue cycle policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  2. Insurance Collections Management
  3. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the revenue cycle team, including staff supervision, training, and performance management.
  4. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to revenue cycle performance, such as days in accounts receivable (AR), denial rate, and clean claim rate, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  5. Collaborate with IT and other departments to optimize the use of revenue cycle management software and other technology solutions to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  6. Work closely with clinical and administrative staff to ensure accurate and timely charge capture and documentation.
  7. Coordinate with payers to resolve billing and reimbursement issues, including claim denials and appeals.
  8. Analyze revenue cycle data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and potential areas of risk.
  9. Develop and manage departmental budgets and financial projections related to the revenue cycle.
  10. Stay abreast of changes in healthcare regulations, reimbursement policies, and industry trends affecting revenue cycle management.
  11. Serve as a liaison with external auditors, consultants, and vendors as needed.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, finance, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle management, with progressively increasing levels of responsibility.
  3. Minimum of $15 million in AR Aging Management
  4. Strong understanding of healthcare billing and reimbursement processes, including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers.
  5. Knowledge of healthcare coding systems (e.g., ICD-10, CPT) and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, Stark Law).
  6. Experience with revenue cycle management software and other technology solutions.
  7. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  8. Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop strategic initiatives to improve revenue cycle performance.
  9. Certified Professional in Revenue Cycle Management (CRCR) or similar certification preferred.
