You will join our Water Team

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare engineering and construction drawings under immediate supervision for all phases of a project, utilizing computer-assisted drafting/design techniques using AutoCAD Plant 3D or Civil 3D software. In most cases, concept information and rough sketches are provided by supervisory personnel as the basis of the design to develop these models. Piping and Instrumentation Drawings and Process Flow Diagrams as examples will be prepared using AutoCAD (2D) software.
  • Coordinate with the work of other design disciplines as required to integrate the work being prepared by you with others.
  • Perform tasks, under supervision, which regularly require the application of fundamental engineering concepts and mathematical formulas. These assignments may include determining material needs and performing necessary calculations using accepted formulas and references, as well as developing and detailing simple and intermediately complex design elements.
  • Review manufacturers or fabricators prints and shop drawings for conformance with contract specifications and design drawings.
  • Perform routine checking and/or verification tasks of CAD work performed, including resolution of potential clashes with the work of other disciplines.
  • Support field assignments as required.
  • Actively participatein creating a safety culture in the office and at the job site.
  • Adhere to the policies and standards set forth in the firms Quality Management System, including Ramboll Drawing Standards, and specific client or industry standards.
  • Occasional travel will be required as needed to perform work at other Ramboll offices or job sites.

  • An Associate Degree in mechanical or civil engineering technology, technical drafting or other relevant technical curriculum and 20+ years of related experience.
  • Proficiency in utilizing AutoCAD 2D and Civil 3D. AutoCAD Plant 3D or Revit MEP experience is also desired.
  • Technical drafting and construction drawing preparation experience.
  • Ability to perform field work in support of planning and design projects.
  • Work effectively in teams, having good interpersonal and communication skills, and a willingness to continue to improve.
  • Fluency in secondary 3D modeling is a plus but is not a prerequisite.
