Job Summary

Essential Functions

* Handle correspondence concerning over-shipments, delivery shortages, changes in quantity, delivery dates, pricing and reporting such changes in a timely manner as required.

* Contribute to the Vendor Management Relations team, to include acting as a liaison between suppliers and departments, to resolve any issues brought by the Vendor Management Relations team.

* Manage Supply Chain risk management activities and identify alternate GMP sourcing opportunities.

* Perform all tactical buying functions needed to support production and administrative operations for all Novavax US sites, with the objective to maximize material availability while maintaining a strategic inventory plan.

* Effectively process inventory, expense, and service related purchase orders. Negotiate price and delivery, along with terms and conditions.

* Managing orders to ensure materials meet the required delivery schedule(s).

* Solicit quotations for materials and services.

* Act as lead for assigned projects and programs to support the Procurement Department.

* Work with Finance and Materials Management staff to reconcile any invoice and/or receiving related issues.

* Work with the Procurement Manager to maintain Procurement data within the ERP system (i.e. pricing, part numbers, supplier related information, etc.).

* Maintain compliance with SOX and government contract requirements.

* Participate in the purchasing process training sessions for new employees, along with periodic "refresher" training for existing employees.

* Provide exceptional customer service to internal customers.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Competent knowledge of procurement techniques and processes; including contract/price negotiation, inventory management, cost reduction programs, and supplier management.
  • Competent knowledge of bio/pharma products
  • Must be organized, possess time management skills, and be able to manage changing priorities. Develops processes and acts as a catalyst for change.
  • Possesses excellent analytical and problem solving skills, along with some financial acumen.
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills and organizational abilities.


Education, Experience, Licenses & Certifications

  • 5-7 years of procurement experience; a GMP background within the pharma or biotech industries strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, but relevant Procurement experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Expertise with ERP / MRP Systems; knowledge of SAP S/4HANA system is required
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products, particularly MS Excel and Outlook.
