Job Overview

The Regional Manager, Channel Sales is responsible for leading a sales team of Territory Managers (TMs) to develop and manage a strategic dealer and pro trade contractor network that delivers targeted profit, revenue, and growth levels within a specific region. The roles and responsibilities of this position include driving high levels of customer satisfaction, implementing/driving key business initiatives, and coaching/mentoring the Senior TMs and TM associates in a focused effort of delivering productive sales activities resulting in incremental sales revenue.

Highlights of your role
    Provide day-to-day management, oversight, mentorship, training, and coaching to direct reports in Senior TM and TM job roles; assist in recruiting and interviewing candidates for open sales positions
  • Achieve annual sales, market share, and profitability goals in targeted geographies and segments. Work with sales team to develop and maintain market analysis for region; implement plans.
  • Collaborate with sales leadership team to identify, recommend, and implement sales and service strategies and goals
  • Identify, evaluate, and select channel and pro trade contractor partners to ensure full market coverage by geography and segment as well as to effectively grow business segments
  • Develop and maintain effective business relationships with channel and pro trade contractor partners' leadership roles and other organizational levels that create loyalty and alignment of our market development and sales efforts
  • Manage annual business planning and review process with channel and pro trade contractor partners to develop results-oriented plans; accurately forecast annual and quarterly revenue for region
  • Lead sales team to successfully assess, develop, and maintain a network of channel and pro trade contractor partners that provide full market coverage for all geographic areas and segments
  • Build trade loyalty by initiating and maintaining strong sales relationships with targeted trade customers
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate a strong understanding of market conditions, trends, and the competitive environment; use this information to influence regional and company sales strategies
  • Provide regular assessment and reporting of sales team's productivity and progress toward regional and territory goals
  • Maintain effective coaching and direction with sales team using all appropriate forms of communication
  • Ensure all company sales, marketing programs, and product introductions are properly implemented and supported by sales team
  • Establish and manage the regional expense budget
  • Participation in cross-functional teams or planning teams
  • Leadership-level involvement at local, regional, and/or national trade association(s)
  • Represent Marvin brands at trade shows and events
  • Support and implement company sales promotions, marketing programs, and product introductions
  • Use CRM (Salesforce.com) to improve sales efforts and efficiency
  • Travel throughout region, including at least 50% overnight travel, or more depending on location. Valid drivers license is required along with acceptable accident and moving violation motor vehicle record.
Salary Range
Total earning potential of $105,000-$195,000 including base salary and annual bonus, depending on achievement of bonus KPIs.
You're a good fit if you have (or if you can)
  • Bachelor's degree or have equivalent industry experience.
  • 4+ years of sales/marketing experience in the building construction industry or related industry
  • 2+ years sales leadership experience with direct reports
  • Proven performance record of success in an outside sales function representing technical, value-based product(s)
  • Ability and willingness to regularly travel throughout region (minimum 50%, but could be more depending on location) which will require some overnight stays. Valid driver's license with acceptable accident and moving violation motor vehicle record is required.
  • Must be able to periodically lift up to 50 lbs
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, nonverbal, and presentation); able to convey strong, clear messages to target audiences of all sizes including co-workers, leadership, customers, and industry groups
  • Responsive, professional persona with a "can do" attitude; effective interpersonal and relationship building skills at multiple levels
  • Strategic and critical thinking skills

  • Work with and leverage technology to improve effectiveness in sales role (Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce.com, and various software applications)
