Position Title: Belt Maintenance Worker
Job Overview: As a Belt Maintenance Worker, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of conveyor belts used in the transportation of materials. Your responsibilities will include conducting regular inspections, performing preventive maintenance tasks, and addressing any issues related to the conveyor belt systems. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety protocols. Shift runs 5 days on 4 days off, including weekends and holidays. Key Responsibilities:
Conveyor Belt Inspection:
Conduct regular inspections of conveyor belts to identify signs of wear, damage, or misalignment.
Utilize various tools and equipment to assess belt conditions, including visual inspections and technical measurements.
Preventive Maintenance:
Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks on conveyor belts to ensure optimal functionality.
Replace worn or damaged components, such as rollers, idlers, and belt splices, in a timely manner to prevent breakdowns.
Troubleshooting and Repairs:
Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with conveyor belt systems.
Execute timely and effective repairs to address mechanical failures, electrical problems, or other issues impacting the conveyor system.
Safety Compliance:
Adhere to strict safety protocols and guidelines while working on conveyor belts.
Participate in safety training programs and contribute to creating a safe work environment for yourself and your colleagues.
Documentation:
Maintain detailed records of inspections, maintenance activities, and repairs performed on conveyor belts.
Provide regular reports to supervisors on the condition of the conveyor systems.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other maintenance personnel, operators, and supervisors to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure smooth operations.
Communicate effectively with team members to share insights and collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. Additional technical certifications in maintenance or related fields are a plus.
Experience:
Previous experience in conveyor belt maintenance or a similar mechanical maintenance role is highly desirable.
Skills:
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to use various hand tools, power tools, and measurement instruments.
Knowledge of safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in physically demanding conditions.
Communication:
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to collaborate with a diverse team and follow instructions.
