We are seeking a reliable and adaptable individual to join our team as a 2nd and 3rd shift floater with assignments on either shifts based on operational needs. 2nd shift is 4pm to 1am and 3rd shift is 11pm to 8am.


Job Description: As a Large Format Printing Operator, your primary responsibility will be to operate and maintain large format printers to produce high-quality prints and graphics for various projects. Your attention to detail, technical expertise, and ability to troubleshoot printing issues will be crucial in delivering exceptional results.

Printing Operations:

Set up, calibrate, and operate large format printing equipment (UV roll to roll, flatbed and Dye-sublimation)

Load and configure print files, ensuring proper color management, resolution, and print settings.

Inspect and prepare print media, such as vinyl, fabric, paper, or rigid substrates, ensuring they are free from defects or damage.

Adjust printer settings, such as ink levels, printhead alignment, and print speed, to achieve desired print quality.

Monitor print progress, perform quality checks, and make necessary adjustments to maintain consistent print output.


Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

Perform regular maintenance tasks, including printhead cleaning and equipment calibration, to ensure optimal printer performance.

Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to printing equipment, such as color inconsistencies, and print quality problems.

Coordinate with equipment vendors or technicians for repairs and maintenance beyond your scope of expertise.

Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, print settings, and troubleshooting steps.


Quality Control:

Inspect printed output for accuracy, color consistency, image clarity, and other quality standards specified by clients or company guidelines.

Review, acknowledge and initial each phase of the quality control process.

Identify, report and rectify any print defects or imperfections, such as streaks, banding, or alignment issues.


Workflow Coordination:

Ensure integrity of the overall production schedule by printing planned jobs.

Communicate with leadership the status of projects to ensure deadlines are being met and the workflow is being completed efficiently.

Coordinate with direction from leadership to prioritize print jobs, manage workloads, and ensure timely completion of orders.

Track and record project progress, including job status, completion dates, and any additional requirements or changes.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience operating large format printing equipment, such as inkjet printers or digital presses.
  • Strong technical skills in color management, image resolution, and printer settings.
  • Proficiency in graphic design software and tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite a plus
  • Knowledge of different print media, substrates, and their specific handling requirements.
  • Familiarity with maintenance and troubleshooting procedures for printing equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities to work with clients and team members.
