Position Summary:

The Generic Injectables Buyer role is responsible for managing their designated manufacturer product lines to ensure consistent supply of product for M&D’s customers.

This role collaborates with several internal teams to ensure that M&D supports all relevant stakeholders in the pharmaceutical care continuum – manufacturers, providers, and patients. This position will be located onsite at the Shreveport, LA corporate office.  

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • The Generic Injectables Buyer will conduct inventory replenishment duties for designated manufacturer product lines/distribution center(s) to include inventory management, meet Company service level goals, and the management and analysis of forecasting trends. 
  • The Generic Injectables Buyer will manage their designated manufacturer product lines to maintain adequate inventory at our distribution center(s) to fulfill our downstream customers’ needs.
  • The Generic Injectables Buyer will establish, maintain and further consistent communication with both internal (purchasing team, customer service, distribution center, finance, etc.) and external customers (manufacturers) providing efficient response time and issue resolution while fostering strong partnerships.
  • The Generic Injectables Buyer will collaborate with the Head of Purchasing and the Generic Injectables Program Manager to identify opportunities to improve internal processes.
  • The Generic Injectables Buyer will manage their designated manufacturer product lines to maintain adequate inventory at our distribution center(s) to fulfill our downstream customers’ needs.
  • The Generic Injectables Buyer will establish a cadence with their designated manufacturers to receive product status information that will be entered into our systems and supplied to customers.
  • The Generic Injectables Buyer will provide the Generic Injectables Program Manager with details of success or failure for a designated manufacturer to be utilized in business reviews.
  • The Generic Injectables Buyer will work with Management and other Buyers to maintain supply coverage.

 

Critical Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in pharmaceutical product knowledge preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel – Pivots, VLOOKUP’s, Word etc.).
  • Experience working cross functionally across multiple departments and stakeholders.

 

Additional Skills:

  • Pharmaceutical or other healthcare industry experience preferred. Rx product knowledge preferred.
  • 5+ years’ experience as a buyer or in materials management.
  • Self-starter with ability to work in a small, nimble, high-growth team.
  • Manage multiple projects requiring frequent communication, organization, time management, and problem solving.
  • AS400 knowledge and experience preferred.

 

Education:

  •      4-year college degree preferred
  •      Combination of education and experience desired
