Blow Mold Machine Operator
Nights, 7pm-7am

36 hours week 1, 48 hours week 2

 

The Blow Mold Operator must possess basic mechanical skill and knowledge and understand how blow molding and support equipment function. They are responsible for operation and excellent understanding of all downstream equipment including wrappers, strappers, palletizers, in addition to working knowledge of blowmold machinery, performs, preform hoppers, and quality testing etc. Operation of blowmold machines involves performing short-cycle, repetitive and some control functions in set pattern to attain high quality production output that meets or exceeds customer expectations.

Specific Responsibilities/Essential Functions
  1. Abides by all Refresco’s Safety and Quality policies and procedures.
  2. Maintains standard production objectives through proper machine operation and records production, accurately.
  3. Makes necessary machine adjustments to maintain consistent machine operation and product quality in terms of customer specifications ( i.e., bottle height, volumetric, top-load, visual defects, section weights, finish dimensions, etc.).
  4. Performs quality assurance tests using appropriate measuring devices and basic math skills, and enters resultant data into the computer system, and has authority to stop production due to quality issues.
  5. Has authority to stop machines/production to communicate machine or equipment problems and breakdowns to Shift Supervisor/Shift Lead or Shift Maintenance Mechanic.
  6. Follows all established safety rules and guidelines as outlined in the Employee Handbook and as trained during the various safety-related training programs. Understands and communicates all hazards and safety issues to co-workers and managers/supervisors.  Properly uses all personal protective equipment.
  7. Maintains housekeeping of all assigned areas. This includes applying Good Manufacturing Practices to meet plant goals.
  8. Actively participates in Quality training and Good Manufacturing Practice meetings to assist in continuous improvement of plant operations.
  9. Performs other related duties as directed by the Shift Supervisor/Production Manager/Site Manager.
