We're looking for an experienced graphic artist to be part of our marketing department.

The ideal person will have excellent communication ability (visual, verbal, and written), well-practiced time management skills, and a professional attitude.

Some responsibilities will include:

  • Taking a creative brief from concept to creation
  • Developing a full range of graphic artwork for print and digital outlets
  • Creating concepts, designs, and sample layouts based on industrywide-accepted layout principles and design concepts
  • Working with marketing and sales teams to create compelling materials, like images, drawings, illustrations, and infographics, for the company and its distribution outlets
  • Updating all digitally owned properties, such as websites, tradeshow materials, advertisements, and product promotion

The skills we're looking for include:

  • Three to five years of related digital marketing or related marketing experience
  • Ability to manage projects both independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Knowledge of digital marketing measurement tools and how to interpret results

GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:

The Digital Marketing Specialist II works with guidance from the Graphics and UI/UX Manager, assigned marketing team, and other project stakeholders to develop inward and outward facing marketing collateral. It also includes primary and supporting roles in project management activities such as coordinating and participating in meetings and developing timelines for producing marketing materials. The Digital Marketing Specialist II plays a primary role using their specific area of expertise, along with at least one other area in a primary or supporting capacity, to contribute to the development of content for various digital marketing campaigns. This includes advertising and promotion, content marketing, product and sales, trade shows and events, and online channel management.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & KRA (Key Result Areas):

> Safety/Culture

  • Continuously maintains Orenco management's safety, cultural, and professional standards.
  • Promotes, encourages, and reinforces a positive safety culture, safe practices, and a safe work environment to all employees.

> Project Management

  • Participates with designated team, marketing managers, and/or internal customers to discuss, plan, and prioritize individual projects.
  • Participates in projects from concept to completion.
  • Uses best practice guides to identify project steps, including routing for review and dissemination to mailroom and end-user.
  • Identifies material needs, collects data, collects and/or creates graphics, and harmonizes content with related documents.

> Brand Management

  • Has a working knowledge of Orenco's brand and ensures it is marketed appropriately.
  • Collaborates with marketing teammates in building brand awareness, driving brand loyalty, and creating brand value.
  • Helps oversee social media accounts and ensures brand consistency.
  • Participates with senior graphic designers to create templates to help maintain our brand consistency.

> Email Marketer

  • Maintains a strong understanding of best email practices, trends, and execution tactics.
  • Develops and execute email campaigns, using template designs, calls to action, and approved content.
  • Helps maintain, compile, and purge email lists.
  • For all tasks related to creating materials, proofs own work thoroughly and takes in edits from others, making accurate corrections to reduce the number of necessary revisions.

> Work is to be done during manufacturing business hours, however this position may on occasion work outside business hours to support department and business needs. Occasional long hours may be needed.

> Regular, consistent, and predictable attendance is required.

> Performs other duties as assigned.

> Graphic Designer/Illustrator

  • Collaborates with assigned team to determine messaging, goals, and objectives of promotional materials.
  • Participates with designated team to create high-quality marketing and promotional sales materials using various colors, graphics, and effects to convey concepts.
  • Works alongside designated teams to create images, drawings, illustrations, and infographics or promotional use.
  • Updates old documents to current specs and brand guidelines.
  • Participates with designated team to develop collateral such as signage, backdrops, banners, handouts, and other trade show items needed.
  • Consistently meets all deadlines and improves efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of quality.
  • For all tasks related to creating materials, proofs own work thoroughly and takes in edits from others, making accurate corrections to reduce the number of necessary revisions.

> Web Designer/SEO (search engine optimization) Management

  • Frequently analyzes our websites to ensure they follow best practices.
  • Scopes and presents new ideas to improve visual aspects of a site, navigation, user experience, and usability for our internal and external customers.
  • Works alongside designated teams to create mockups of revamped or new site pages.
  • Participates with designated team to create landing pages with lead generation forms for new and ongoing advertising campaigns.
  • Participates in implementing ongoing SEO including researching keywords.
  • Helps develop strategies to identify and implement crosslinks, backlinks, dead links, and alt tags.
  • Proactively researches and presents new strategies to increase SEO.

> Advertising Management

  • Collaborates with the team to identify and develop the most appropriate marketing and advertising strategies.
  • Helps maintain a yearly calendar of the identified strategies.
  • Works alongside designated teams to create and maintain advertising campaigns.
  • Uses online channels to monitor and discover trending topics, potential new channels, and new ways to promote products.
  • Stays up to date on strategies that generate sales leads, increase traffic, and build brand awareness.

> Photographer

  • Participates with designated team and stakeholders to manage photography sessions including procuring products and setting up a time and place for a photoshoot.
  • Consults with designated team to photograph, enhance, and manipulate photos using up to date software.
  • Helps maintain and manage photography equipment.
  • Stays up to date with new design techniques and software.

> Videographer

  • Contributes to and works with relevant team and stakeholders in the design and creation of videos.
  • Works alongside designated teams to operate video cameras, lighting, and audio on location or in the studio, in the production of high quality videos.
  • Uses up to date software to edit video segments for use on a variety of platforms.
  • Stays up to date with new design techniques and software.

> Animator

  • Participates with designated team to create assets for use in promotional campaigns.
  • Using technical software helps design models, backgrounds, objects, and animation environments.
  • Participates in developing the timing and pace of the movements of objects and scenes during the sequence of images.
  • Helps to build accurate, detailed, frame-by-frame visuals.
  • Stays up to date with new design techniques and software.

EDUCATION:

  • BA (Bachelor of Arts) degree or satisfactory equivalent of education and experience.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Three to five years of related work experience in digital marketing or related marketing experience.
  • Two or more areas of expertise.
  • Intermediate knowledgeable in key areas of digital marketing, SEO, social media, content marketing, email marketing, PPC (Pay Per Click), and SEM (Search Engine Marketing).
  • Intermediate knowledge of key measurement tools used in digital marketing and the ability to interpret results.
  • High level of skill using Adobe Creative Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Analytics.
  • A functional understanding of HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) with web design experience.
  • An "eye" for good, clean layout and design (Layout samples and skills testing required).
  • Familiarity with other page layout and design software a plus, including AutoCAD (Computer-aided design) and SolidWorks.
  • Ability to grasp "how things work" and impart that information to others, having creative and good presentation skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to organize/manage work to follow through on commitments and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work quickly while attending to details.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Primarily office environment with occasional exposure to outside elements when traveling, during installations, site visits, and/or while taking photographs. May require the ability to visit sites that are situated on a variety of developed and undeveloped terrain/locations.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Regular job duties include seeing, speaking, hearing, reading, writing, keyboarding, prolonged periods of sitting including extended time viewing a computer screen. Intermittent physical activity including standing, walking, kneeling, climbing stairs and ladders, reaching, pushing, pulling, grasping, holding, bending, twisting, kneeling, stooping, and squatting. Occasional assembly of exhibit equipment, product samples, etc. and occasional light lifting of under 20 lbs. May also include occasional unassisted lifting of up to 50 lbs., occasionally up to 70 lbs. Lifting over 70 lbs. must be assisted. Travel requirements may include operation of a motor vehicle, airplane travel, and overnight stays in temporary lodging. Travel needs are determined by business need and assigned job tasks and responsibilities. May require the ability to visit project sites that are situated on a variety of developed and undeveloped terrain/locations.
