Our popular bakery is looking for a full-time general manager of a bakery to join our team. Must love all things sweet: cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and working with a diverse group of people. There are opportunities for advancement, above market pay, and most importantly, CUPCAKES!

Under general direction of the owner, to be responsible for a bakeshop operation, including the production of quality baked goods according to stringent deadlines, based on a precise knowledge of the latest baking technology and careful control of available resources. Caramanda’s currently operates out of two Lexington locations. The General Manager oversees the operations of both locations and ensures clear communication between both teams.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Plan, schedule, and supervise bakery production, shipping, and cleaning activities to highest safety and sanitation standards.

2. Supervise, evaluate, train, and schedule work of bakery staff.

3. Order and arrange for correct ingredients, supplies, and equipment using computerized system.

4. Responsible for consolidation of product orders from users.

5. Assure the proper use and care of a large variety of highly specialized production equipment by staff.

6. Assist in maintaining the store’s website by updating product photos, descriptions, pricing, etc.

7. Develop, maintain, and update recipe files through computerized processes.

8. Responsible for performing stock inventory.

9. Assist in developing and implementing merchandising plans for new cash operations, as required.

10. Assist bakers with production of new products or when schedule falls behind.

11. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:

1. High school graduation with some technical training and at least five years of related experience in food service management.

2. A willingness to learn new technology and utilize our software to help the business run better.

3. Supervisory ability.

What We Are Looking for in Our Ideal Candidate

Leadership: Caramandas is growing. As such, we're looking for a manager who has the motivation and drive to grow with us. It's the food industry and anything can happen. We will rely on you to use sound judgment, to stay calm and troubleshoot any issue, direct teams of bakers, decorators, and front-of-house workers, all while providing quality customer service when needed.

Reliability: As the General Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring operations run smoothly. As such reliability is extremely important. We will count on you to be punctual, maintain standards (and hold staff accountable), display integrity, and meet deadlines.

Flexibility: This is a full-time position working a day shift. Actual start and end times will fluctuate as business needs dictate. Caramanda’s is open seven days a week, and as such, weekend availability is needed.

Innovation: We are always looking to improve our processes and procedures. Under the direction of the owner, an ideal General Manager will understand how to create, implement, and uphold bakery processes to streamline operations.
