Job Description
The Accounting Specialist- AP is responsible for full cycle accounts payable processing including examining, verifying, and reconciling a variety of transactions as well as maintaining all payable related records. Match approved (signed & dated) receiving document to Purchase Order.Match approved Purchase Orders and delivery receipts to vendor invoices, verifying accuracyPerform three-way match of cost of sale inventory items in ERP SystemsResolve pricing discrepancies in purchase order and invoiceResearch vendor discrepancies and/or concernsPost payables invoicesMaintain payables files including new year setups and archiving of historical files.Assist Cost Accountant, Assistant Corp. Controller and Controller as needed.Any other duties as assigned or required, including audit preparation, filing, sorting, etc. Associates Degree in Accounting with a minimum of 2+ years’ work experience in accounting, preferably in a manufacturing related business; OR minimum of five (5) years previous AP related and verifiable work experience in high volume business.Ability to switch between multiple software platforms while ensuring consistency and accuracy of dataAccurate data entry input, proofreading, and solid math computation skills.Prior experience within multi-company environments or business platforms.Intermediate to advanced computer skills (including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc., MAPICS/XA) Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and ability to handle vendor concerns with tact and diplomacy. Work will take place primarily in an office. Employee may be required to work weekends, holidays and be on-call on occasion. The employee may encounter controlled air conditions with frequent air changes, environmental exposure.
