Job Description
St. Clair Country Club is hiring a creative, passionate, detailed oriented and reliable Pastry Assistant.
Located eight miles from downtown Pittsburgh in the heart of the South Hills, St. Clair Country Club is committed to providing expectations of excellence in the highest quality dining, social, entertainment and recreational experiences to its 870 members and their families and guests. St. Clair Country Club offers multiple private dining and reception areas including the Ballroom that seats up to 240 people, the Crossroads Room which seats up to 100 people, the Alibi Room which seats up to 50 people and the Library that seats up to 30 people. Along with multiple restaurants, bars and banquet operations, your development and learning are never ending.
Full Time position
10 am - 6 pm 5 days a week between Monday - Sunday
Flexible schedule according on events and holidays
$16-$20 an hour depending on experience
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare high-quality breads, pastries, and desserts for our members and guests according to recipes and standards
- Bake cookies, cakes, breads, breakfast breads, muffins, custards, moose
- Assist with decorating and plating desserts
- Measure and mix ingredients accurately, ensuring consistency and quality in all products
- Collaborate with pastry team to develop new menu and seasonal items
- Provide support during special events and functions, including weddings, banquets, and holiday celebrations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in pastry kitchen, including equipment and workstations
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times
- Display positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow in fast-paced environment
- Perform other duties as assigned by pastry chef
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years' experience in Baking & Pastry
- Previous experience in pastry kitchen or culinary environment preferred
- Culinary degree/certification or equivalent experience helpful
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to produce excellent quality in high volume
- Excellent time management and organization skills
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
