Snowmakers

Job Summary

The primary goal is to safely and efficiently operate snowmaking equipment. Must be a team player and take great pride in a job well done. The snowmaking team strives to provide a perfect product every day while displaying a positive attitude.

Job Tasks/Responsibilities

After an orientation period and on-the-job-training, the successful candidate will be expected to:

• Unconditionally use the appropriate personal protective equipment required for the various types of work to be done.
• Perform general maintenance and housekeeping of buildings, equipment, snow guns and hoses.
• Know how to set up, start up, adjust and shut down different types of snow guns.
• Be willing and able to train junior snowmakers in the proper operation of the snowmaking equipment that the department uses.
• Be able to operate a snowmobile in a safe and efficient manner.
• Be willing to help in other departments during peak periods. This may include lift operations, parking, food and beverage, etc.
• Perform general maintenance and pre-operational checks on equipment.
• Receive daily work instruction and complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
• Be able to troubleshoot and correct malfunctions and breakdowns of snowmaking equipment.
• Have a basic understanding of the valving, pump and compressor stations.
• Other duties as assigned by management or supervisor.

Job Requirements

• Valid driver's license with no restrictions. Must complete a satisfactory MVR check.
• Must be at least 18 (eighteen) years of age.
• Prior snowmobile, snowmaking, and/or ski resort experience is a plus.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Must be able to pull, lift or drag 75lbs or more and stand for long periods of time.
• Ability and desire to work long shifts in adverse, wintery conditions.
• Ability to work at night, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to work unsupervised.
• Must be a proponent of teamwork.
• Ability to work within guidelines of the Hermitage Club's Safety Program.
• Willing to work in a physically demanding job on challenging terrain.
• Please note The Hermitage Club does not provide housing.
