Montessori Preschool Assistant Teacher

The Wave of the Future Preschool is seeking an assistant teacher or aide for our preschool program in Seaview, WA.

Position start date May 2024.

Our preschool program is a Montessori based, child-led, arts & ecology program. Hours are between 7:30am-3:30pm Monday-Friday. Most likely around 15-20 hours/week.

Must be reliable, trustworthy, and experienced with children.

Responsibilities

• Observing, guiding, supervising, and assessing children while they learn and explore.
• Creating and maintaining a safe, clean, stimulating classroom where all children feel safe and valued.
• Setting an excellent example for students and instilling good values in them like honesty, accountability, understanding, tolerance, respect, love, and kindness.

Qualifications:

• Experience with early childhood education (ECE)
• Problem solver & community builder

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Positive Discipline
• Experience working or volunteering in a Montessori, child-led, outdoor or nature based program.

Requirements:

• Proficient with email, google documents and spreadsheets.
• Background Check
• TB Test
• Minimum Age: 18
• High School Diploma
• Completion of Washington's Department of Children Youth and Families' childcare trainings upon hire.
