CROS is a 501c3 organization that helps food insecure people in our community. Our Food Pantry program serves at 15 locations in Palm Beach and Martin Counties. CROS has other programs working to alleviate hunger and many community partners working toward that same goal. CROS programs rely heavily on our wonderful volunteers who support pantry operations and client interactions.

We are looking for a mission-minded person with experience managing volunteers. Time management and organization skills are a must to be successful. This is a mid-level position with a full benefits package.

Job Overview: This program position is supervised by the Director of the Food Pantry Program and directly supervises operations of the Lake Worth and West Palm Beach Food Pantries. This is a full-time position. Starting salary is $39,500 - $41,600.

Essential Functions

  • Assist Program Director in program operations as directed
  • Manage the Lake Worth and West Palm Beach Food Pantries
  • Serve as back up for all other food pantry locations, including mobile pantry
  • Attend meetings and conferences as needed
  • Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers in pantries and at the warehouse
  • Collect donations and distribute food and supplies to the pantries as needed
  • Organize and coordinate community food drives
  • Maintain relationships with community partners
  • Work to educate the community as to systemic causes and solutions to ending hunger

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field OR Associate's Degree in related field plus five years directly related work experience
  • Previous experience working with volunteers a plus

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Must have a clean FL driver's license, be at least 21 years old, and have at least one year of U.S. driving experience.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to pass background check
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft 365 and database
  • Basic office skills and excellent organization and time management skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Basic inventory skills a plus
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Teamwork and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions to complete assigned tasks
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work
  • Ability to problem solve, implement solutions, work independently
  • Fluency in Spanish and/or Creole preferred

Orientation Factors

  • Must be able to lift and move 50 lbs. repetitively
  • Must be able to grasp and hold
  • Must be able to climb, crawl, and stoop to reach material; bend at the waist; kneel or crouch for extended periods of time; reach overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally
  • Must be able to withstand extended periods of sitting, standing, and/or bending
  • Must be able to climb stairs
  • Must be able withstand exposure to physical discomforts associated with changes in temperature and weather such as rain, heat or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with diverse groups
  • Occasional evening and weekend work is required throughout the year.
