POSITION SUMMARY

Design, develop, integrate, configure, and maintain web and database applications to support Minitab's enterprise-wide systems and multi-site interoperability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop enterprise-wide financial systems and ensure multi-site interoperability.

Assist in integrating enterprise financial applications with other applications and systems.

Collaborate with finance, IT, and developers across multiple projects to aid in designing financial systems.

Understand Minitab's business operations, business rules, strategies and goals in the context of Minitab's corporate strategy and global operations requirements. Maintain full working knowledge of the enterprise systems and integrated applications.

Follow department coding standards and best practices.

Document applications file structures, design, and operation. Document programming conventions and procedures to promote consistency among various applications.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Serve as backup to other financial systems engineers. Participate on project teams as assigned.

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree required in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a closely related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with ERP systems and accounting fundamentals.
  • 5+ years' experience working with Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Knowledge of general business operations, and a working knowledge of information systems techniques and technology.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum Methodologies.
  • Experience writing TSQL code is required.

The following are also desirable:

  • Demonstrated programming ability in VS.Net (C# or VB), SQL Server, and MS Access.
  • Experience with web development technologies such as AJAX/HTML/CSS and JavaScript and knowledge of web frameworks like ASP.NET and MVC.
  • Experience with development tools and source control systems such as Microsoft Visual Studio, Team Foundation Server, and Git.
  • Experience with SSRS and/or Power BI.
  • Experience creating/modifying SSIS packages.
  • Experience with Cloud based ERP and CRM solutions.
  • Experience with SSAS multidimensional models.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to work well in a team of skilled software professionals with the ability to build consensus for new practices and technologies.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly and to discern the relevancies, applicability, and usefulness of those technologies to Minitab.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and solve moderate technical problems.
  • Strong time management skills in working with multiple projects.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the English language.
