Salary: Minimum of $15/hr, increases based on experience

Summary /Objective
Responsible for all aspects of Machine Operation; including set-up and operation of manual and CNC machines, including mills, lathes, radial drill, drill press, etc. 


Essential Functions

  • Have the ability to operate a 3-axis CNC HURCO mill with conversational programming with a mid-level of skill expertise.
  • Have the ability to operate a ProtoTRAK lathe with conversational G & M code programming.
  • Achieves production, quality, and safety standards by observing equipment operating conditions and adjusting maximize output.
  • Detect malfunctions and makes machine/programming adjustments to achieve quality and production standards. 
  • Notifies appropriate personnel of problems beyond the scope of responsibility of the position.
  • Keep accurate time, production, and maintenance records. 
  • Will cross train on a multitude of machines and equipment to provide greater flexibility in the entire operation.
  • Responsible for identifying opportunities to reduce costs, increase productivity and coordinates the testing of new products to achieve operating targets.  
  • Maintain essential inventory items per established procedures. 
  • Will assist Leader/Supervisor with testing new products, ordering supplies, etc.
  • Perform basic equipment maintenance in compliance with preventative/predictive schedules.
  • Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports.
  • Communicate with co-workers, management, clients and others in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
  • This job operates in a manufacturing shop environment. Exposure to noise, chemicals, and materials consistent with a manufacturing environment is constant. This is a physically demanding position; maintaining the physical strength to lift materials up to 50 pounds, endure prolonged standing, dexterity, and stamina is necessary.

Exposure to noise, chemicals, and materials consistent with a manufacturing environment is constant. This is a physically demanding position; maintaining the physical strength to lift materials up to 50 pounds, endure prolonged standing, dexterity, and stamina is necessary. 


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time or part-time position. This position is assigned to either a day or evening shift. Overtime work may be required as job duties demand.


Travel

This position requires minimal travel, if any, between businesses or to training sessions.

Required Education and Experience

  • High School diploma
  • Equivalent work experience and demonstrated competency may substitute for a degree
  • Good planning, organization and follow up skills required
  • Must have the demonstrated ability to safely operate all material handling equipment, including fork trucks, overhead cranes, jib cranes, battery magnets, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc.


Preferred Education and Experience

  • Two-year degree in CNC Operations or equivalent skilled trades program
  • Additional technical training in machining centers, mills, lathes, etc.


Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Must submit pre-employment drug screen and background check authorization
