General Information:

  • Experience: Preferably 3 years of experience, will consider less based on candidate's experience. Must have OR experience.
  • Acceptance of Traveler: Yes, first-time travelers are accepted.
  • Patient Types: Outpatient, Inpatient, Emergency Department (ED), Operating Room (OR), Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Pediatrics, Vented, Sedated.
  • Procedures: Whole body, Musculoskeletal, Neuro, Portables. No fluoroscopy procedures required (Lumbar punctures, GI studies).
  • Equipment Types: Carestream Portables, Client Rooms, Client C-arm.
  • Average Patients Per Day: 15-20

Required Certifications:

  • Rad Tech: BLS, ARRT

Required Education:

  • Rad Tech: Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

Skills Required:

  • Proficiency in C-arm operation
  • Familiarity with EPIC (preferred)
  • Experience in Level 1 or 2 Trauma settings
  • Must have OR experience

Charting System: EPIC; Sectra

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform radiologic procedures in various departments including OR, ED, and other patient care areas.
  2. Operate radiographic equipment to produce quality diagnostic images as directed by physicians.
  3. Ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures, providing clear instructions and answering patient questions.
  4. Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures, ensuring correct anatomical positioning and shielding as required.
  5. Assist in the administration of contrast media and other medications under the direction of a physician.
  6. Maintain accurate patient records, including procedure documentation, patient history, and other relevant information in the hospital's electronic medical record system (EPIC).
  7. Adhere to radiation safety protocols and ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  8. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care and workflow efficiency.
  9. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities to maintain licensure and certification.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned by the Radiology Department Manager or supervising physician.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs).
  • Standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity for accurate positioning and operation of equipment.
