Bookkeeper/Accounts Manager

We are actively seeking qualified candidates to help fill the role of Bookkeeper/Accounts Manager. This is a full-time position that requires a dynamic outside the box thinker with a background in accounts receivable, accounts payable, detailed knowledge of QuickBooks, as well as a genuine interest in joining a management team that serves a diverse group of people. This position is vital to our organization and has been held by one person for over 30-years. Training will be provided but candidates with a rich skillset supported by integrity, commitment, communication, flexibility, patience, and a great attitude will move to the front.

Compensation for this salaried position is based on qualifications, experience, but also includes medical, dental, optical, vacation pay, holiday pay and 401k.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

Responsibilities: (including but not limited to)

• Record and pay accounts payable (A/P)
• Maintain accounts payable records Monitor & review of accounts receivable (A/R)
• Maintain club membership records
• Maintain check registers and credit card accounts
• Banking of deposits; maintain tender in POS drawers
• Monthly meetings with outside accountant
• Report new hires to the state employee onboarding
• Maintain employee records Process biweekly payroll
• Generate and submit local, state, and federal tax forms, and pay taxes
  • Pay biweekly payroll taxes and 401(k) plan payroll deductions
  • Pay monthly SUW taxes and submit SUW tax report
  • Pay quarterly city w/h taxes, MiSUI taxes, and FUTA taxes and quarterly reports
  • Pay bi-annual property taxes
  • Generate annual W-2 forms and 1099-NEC forms; submit annual forms to federal and state.
• Maintain tax records
• Order office supplies as needed (paper, pens, envelopes, stamps, check stock, forms)
• Generate reports as requested by CEO and other management level coworkers
• Support frontline staff - supplies, Club Automation, credit card terminals, member inquiries, training
• Communicate, plan and follow-up with club leadership and staff
• Actively help to develop more efficient and effective ways to operate our facilities
• Demonstrate extensive knowledge of all club facilities, schedules, business operations
• Maintain office equipment and maintenance contracts (copiers, phones, computers, cable, television)

On occasion:

• Creating/editing membership and employee written communication
• Backup customer service desk (rarely)
