Staff Accountant Job working with a great team in Philadelphia!

Responsibilities:

The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing general ledger entries, performing account reconciliations and analyzing expense and revenue variance. Additional accounting responsibilities will be assigned within the accounting structure as needed.

Responsible for assisting the Controller in the month end process including, preparing and posting journal entries and variance analysis for month end financial statements.

Reconcile balance sheet accounts.

Assist in various audits throughout the year (Inventory, Petty Cash, Non-Monetary Compensation)

Financial/Statistical Reporting

Prepare schedules for Quarterly Forecasting/Annual Budgeting.

Completion of assigned Medicare/Medicaid cost report schedules.

Assist with month end vendor accrual process.

Special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in accounting.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer. Skill in using a calculator, PC, printer, and photocopier. Competent with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook. Previous experience with a computerized general ledger. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Self-motivated and independent, able to work with a minimum of supervision. Knowledge of the medical industry and insurance billing a plus.
