Automotive Paint Production Lead

The Lead Painter is responsible for repairing and inspecting cars to the highest standards. This position is also responsible of supporting and training fellow painters. It reports directly to the Supervisor Body Shop. .

Experience: 5-7 years automotive experience

Pay Rate: $30 - $45 per hour.

Required Education:

High School Diploma/Equivalent

ASE Certification B2 – Painting and Refinishing

Extensive Volkswagen and/or Audi product knowledge

Role Responsibilities:

· Inspect and identify flaws and imperfections in painted surfaces of automobiles

· Diagnose flaws in refinishing and correct problems

- Scratches

- Inclusions

- Runs

· Prepare a vehicle for painting

- Cleaning

- Taping

- Sanding

· Ability to spot paint and refinish automobiles

· Produce repairs meeting the highest possible level of customer satisfaction and quality standards

· Utilize computer system

· Notify parts department of needed parts

· Perform quality audits or inspection

· Alert Leader of unusual or reoccurring faults with vehicles

· Maintain a clean and safe working environment

· Maintain a high level of attendance and performance

· Maintain accurate vehicle records

· Ensure that all repairs meet the highest possible level of customer satisfaction and quality standards

· Alert Supervisor of any unusual or reoccurring faults with vehicles

Train colleagues in repair and in refinishing procedures

Required: Driver license and ability to drive manual (stick-shift)
