Wind Farm Technician

Job Overview: We are seeking an adept individual to join our dynamic team as a Sustainable Energy System Support Specialist. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the optimal operation and maintenance of wind turbine generators and associated balance of plant (BOP) equipment. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of wind energy systems, coupled with a strong commitment to safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Prioritize safety above all else, fostering a culture of safety awareness and adherence to health requirements.
2. Vigilantly identify and promptly report any safety concerns or hazards associated with project activities.
3. Conduct thorough assessments of field and shop operations to pinpoint potential safety risks and areas for improvement.
4. Demonstrate proficiency in troubleshooting, testing, and performing repairs on wind turbine generator (WTG) equipment.
5. Execute meticulous quality audits of maintenance and repair work conducted by subcontractors, ensuring compliance with established standards.
6. Conduct rigorous quality control inspections on subcontractors' deliverables, encompassing both turbine and BOP components.
7. Possess a comprehensive understanding of all documentation essential for reviewing and approving repairs and servicing of WTGs.
8. Maintain accurate records pertaining to inventory levels of tools, consumables, and spare parts, and assist with periodic inventory counts.
9. Uphold the cleanliness and organization of the facility, tools, and equipment to facilitate optimal operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

1. A minimum of 1 year of experience in a field technician role, preferably within the renewable energy sector.
2. Ability to obtain or possess a Commercial Driver's License (CDL), facilitating transportation requirements.
3. Completion of basic training in wind turbine generator operations and maintenance, demonstrating a foundational understanding of wind energy systems.
