Job Description
The Manufacturing Engineer at is responsible for providing engineering and production support to manufacturing facility in the areas of mold, fixture, automation design, as well as processing support and troubleshooting, and working with customers on a technical level.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Designing production molds and valve-gated cold runners specific to liquid silicone;
Assisting in the manufacture and debugging of production silicone molds manufactured at ;
Completing prototype designs and working with customers on designs for the manufacture of their components;
Designing and debugging automation specific to the molding of liquid silicone;
Specifying system components and developing standards that relate to silicone tooling;
Establishing and documenting a silicone tool building process utilizing in house and external mold shops;
Developing press side automation cells and robotic end of arm tools specific for silicone molded components;
Generating engineering and quality documentation to support new equipment and tooling being introduced into the silicone production area;
Interfacing with production, planning, and quality to ensure efficient communication and resolution of problems;
Assisting drafters in developing the structure design of products using drafting tools or computer-assisted design (CAD) or drafting equipment and software;
Researching, designing, evaluating, installing, operating, and maintaining mechanical products, equipment, systems, and processes to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles;
Conferring with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information;
Recommending design modifications;
Conducting research that tests and analyzes the feasibility, design, operation and performance of equipment, components, and systems;
Investigating equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and to make recommendations to maintenance crew;
Developing and testing models of alternate designs and processing methods to assess feasibility, operating condition effects, possible new applications, and necessity of modification;
Developing, coordinating, and monitoring all aspects of production, including selection of manufacturing methods, fabrication, and operation of product designs; and
Specifying system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
Requirements
1. Bachelor’s Degree.
2. 5 or more years of Plastic Injection Mold and Fixture Design experience.
