Project Engineer I

Work Schedule: Monday to Thursday (6 am to 4:30 pm) BUT WILL VARY BASED ON PROJECT SCHEDULE CHANGES

Work Location: Onsite in Ridgecrest, CA   (MUST BE ABLE TO TRAVEL TO OTHER JOBSITES WHEN NEEDED)

Pay Range: $40.86 -$45.67 per hour.

 

We are seeking a team-oriented individual who can work hand in hand with the onsite personnel as well as assist the Project Manager.

As a Project Engineer, you will help maintain a project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems. Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan, scheduling changes, and recommending actions. Controls project costs by approving expenditures and administering contractor contracts.

Assist the project Team in all aspects of the project as needed including:

  • Managing, planning, and budgeting
  • Maintenance of project documents: Plans, specifications including as-builts
  • Project schedule maintenance
  • Communicating with clients, designers, vendors, subcontractors, suppliers
  • Communicating with and scheduling subcontractors
  • Preparation of submittals for submission and approval
  • Ordering of materials
  • Scheduling deliveries
  • Daily reporting
  • Equipment reporting
  • Timekeeping
  • Tracking of weather daily
  • Data entry in Heavy Job
  • Request quotes
  • Badging and passes
  • Tracking of production
  • Receiving of materials
  • Invoice review and approval
  • Project contacts list updated and maintained
  • Permits applied for and kept up to date; i.e., Dig Permits
  • Recording job progress and daily production quantities
  • Building site maps and exhibits to display production
  • Respond to emergency job situations (water leaks, etc.)

Education:

· 0-3 years with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred, or equivalent combinations of technical training and related experience

 

Work Experience:

· Demonstrated knowledge of construction principles, practices, and technology

 

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Proficiency with all MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawing and specifications, building materials, and required standards applicable to discipline.
  • Ability to assume responsibility, interface, and communicate effectively with others.

  • Team player
  • Ability and willingness to abide by Baldi’s Code of Conduct daily.
