TOOLING SET-UP & PROCESS TECH

Specific Duties:
Responsible for preparing/repairing molds and trim tools for TSL and alike formers.
Responsible for maintaining tooling PM data log. Maintains a repair log of date submitted and date corrected. Issues list weekly.
Responsible for maintaining an accurate inventory list of tooling and parts.
Responsible for performing changeovers on all the lines.
Ensures all center lines are being followed and maintained up to date.
Responsible for identifying mechanical issues on the entire line that need to be repaired and advise Maintenance and Repair when necessary.
Trains thermoforming operators on correct tool change procedures.
Teaches and follows LOTO policies while working on machines and with others.
Ensures recipes are correct for manufactured products, including proper temperatures, cycle speeds, and index variation.
Ensures product meets all QC specifications after a complete changeover before releasing to manufacturing.
Adjust die penetration and treadle guides to trim parts properly with uniform flanges. Replace Punch and die segments when needed.
Responsible for initially monitoring machines after tool installation for proper operating conditions and ensuring efficient operation of the lines.
Adjusts platens for correct mold shut height for proper tonnage settings.
Responsible for measuring product weight and balancing the sheet across the machine direction for even weight distribution on all rows.
Works with operators to ensure correct packaging is at the startup line.
Maintains the tool change area, tool storage rack, and spare tool parts. Also, maintain the maintenance log on all tools.
Assists operators in troubleshooting process problems.
Strong troubleshooting skills in material conveying systems.
Strong understanding of blending systems.
Responsible for working on the tasks/projects within your technical skillsets/knowledge that are assigned by your manager(s)


Requirements and Qualifications:
Must have at least four years of previous mechanical experience through work at Ecopax or another plastics company.
Must have at least five years of previous experience with basic hand tools.
Must be able to climb ladders/scaffolding occasionally.
Must be able to work in an environment of 90 to 105 degrees.
Must be able to work 12-hour, weekends, and/or night shifts.
Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
A good work history is required.
Must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Spanish is a plus.
Dial calipers and other precision measuring tools are also allowed.
Must exhibit excellent troubleshooting skills.
Must be able to convert measurements from standard to metric and vice versa.
Able to identify the difference between a metric and a standard fastener.
