Maintenance Technician / Mechanic - Now Hiring

Position Summary

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Troubleshoots, installs, maintains, repairs, or rebuilds a variety of machines. Repairs, refits or replaces worn or defective parts.
• Troubleshoots, repairs and maintains all auxiliary equipment standard in the industry.
• Performs a variety of duties involved in the maintenance of electrical and electronic equipment such as replacing motors or brushes, relays, circuit breakers , motors, repairing electronic controls and equipment, and fuses.
• Bends and installs conduit, pulls and terminates wires. Basic understanding of electrical schematics
• Performs a wide variety of routine to complex plant maintenance operations, including building repairs, electrical work and plumbing. Maintains building and grounds.
• Assists in training of production personnel as required.
• Monitors building and production equipment, developing, and carrying out prevention maintenance plans as necessary.
• Follows all departmental procedures to ensure quality requirements are met.
• Must be available for off shift work when emergency repairs or snow removal are necessary.

Requirements

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Expanded Machine and electric experience and 3 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician.

LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to comprehend and comply with written and verbal procedures, instructions and assignments. Ability to deal with situations involving several variables in standard ad manufacturing conditions. Ability to actively participate in-group problem solving activities.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to correctly perform calculations using basic mathematical skills.

REASONING ABILITY Ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems normally encountered in the manufacturing environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to vibration and moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud. Employee is required to follow all safety rules and procedures including, but not limited to, using required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
