Job Description

The Quality Assurance Technician follows prescribed procedures and performs a variety of tasks in the Quality area. You will be working on 2nd shift (2pm - 10pm).

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential functions may include, but are not limited to:
  • Operating, or being willing to learn to operate, the roll editor for working through the quality issues and detecting insect rolls.
  • Supporting PC4 wrinkle process review.
  • Performing QC testing and cutting PG templates.
  • Performing and managing yellow tag list for PE-owned items / Finishing out of flow.
  • Ability to operate the rewinders, J line tester, slip force testing and nip checks.
  • Learning to operate lift equipment.
  • Supporting Finishing cleaning PM process, as needed.
  • Performing Quality / process watches to support losses / claims issues.
  • Using Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access), in addition to plant systems.
  • Assisting with Coating PM process - Quality-related items during Monday PMs.
  • Performing special testing (ROQ testing, Parotester testing, release testing, Oxford and Asoma testing, GPC testing, etc.).
  • Supporting CAR / CAL process, claim research and weekly CAR status report.
  • Maintain lab equipment (troubleshoot problems, calibrations, etc.).
  • Assisting during Quality fall downs / events with containment / testing, etc.
  • Supporting claim returns process.
  • Supporting / executing submission of RMRs for raw material quality issues.
  • Supporting processing / monitoring of ECRs in Coating / Finishing. Includes tracking of Quality issues and Finishing recipe development.
  • Supporting training activities in response to internal / external Quality issues.
  • Attending all required safety training.
  • Participating in or leading lab safety initiatives.
  • Perform Quality / process audits in Coating / Finishing.
  • Supporting execution and continuous improvement activities on ISO9000 and training projects.
  • Supporting statistical analysis projects on testing variation / product variation. This may include special lab testing experiments.
  • Performing other duties, as assigned by the supervisor.

Safety:
  • Practice all health and safety procedures, policies and practices.
  • Practice excellent housekeeping. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Attend all required safety training.
  • Participate in or lead lab safety initiatives.


Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent education required
  • Must have schedule flexibility for occasionally staying over or coming in early
  • Superior oral and written communications skills
  • Actively seeks knowledge, skills and experience in order to grow and develop
  • Ability to think ahead, anticipate problems and take appropriate actions
  • Achieves goals with minimal direction
  • Demonstrated decision and problem-solving experience
  • Strong communication skills inside and outside of Quality
  • Flexible and ready to accept and respond to multi-task assignments
  • Proficiency in Google and Microsoft Office preferred
  • Previous Quality or Research and Development lab experience preferred
