Our company is seeking a VP of Finance based in our Needham, MA Office Headquarters in the greater Boston area. The VP of Finance will report directly to the Chief Operations Officer. This individual will be responsible for leading the development of the Annual Operating Plan, overseeing the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, managing all related internal and external reporting, performing financial analysis of various investment alternatives, and executing the appropriate upgrades to accounting and other financial systems.




  • Organize and lead the annual plan and budgeting process
  • Generate monthly reporting packages to ensure the accuracy of financial information, including analysis to provide insight into company operations
  • Improve and maintain a dynamic financial company business model for executive planning purposes and evaluating ‘what if' scenarios. Provide thought leadership.
  • Ensure that financial statements are prepared in a timely manner and that reliable financial information is available for key decision-making
  • Establish and maintain all corporate policies related to accounting and financial/compliance matters
  • Act as liaison between company and bank representatives, and perform monthly bank compliance reporting
  • Coordinate annual tax extensions and filings with outside tax firm
  • Implement changes to accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting rules and regulations
  • Maintain database of company key performance indicators, and generate high-level dashboard weekly for the executive team
  • Perform timely and accurate preparation of audit schedules for quarterly reviews and annual audits
  • Drive process improvements throughout the department to maximize efficiency
  • Develop and maintain an effective department through the selection, training, compensation, and motivation of all department personnel-
  • Provide guidance and direction to accounting employees to assist them in their professional development -
  • Manage ad-hoc projects as assigned by the COO
  • Project Accounting/ ROI evaluations
  • Manufacturing Cost accounting – setting material and labor standards, applying overhead to RM, WIP, and FG at the appropriate amounts, variance tracking, and accruals.


  • BS in Management or accounting, MBA with a concentration in Accounting or Finance
  • 15+ years of experience, including 3 to 5 years at a manufacturing company
  • Previous experience as a Corporate Controller
  • A licensed Certified Public Accountant is desirable, but actual experience is more important
