Special Education Teacher In Gardiner, ME

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.
• Provide direct instruction to students in accordance with their IEP goals and objectives.
• Utilize a variety of instructional techniques and strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
• Collaborate with other members of the educational team, including general education teachers, therapists, and support staff, to ensure student success.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instructional methods as needed to facilitate growth and development.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including progress reports, behavior logs, and other relevant records.
• Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers to provide updates on student progress and address any concerns or questions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
• Valid Special Education teaching license/certification in the state of Maine.
• Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, including those with disabilities such as autism, emotional/behavioral disorders, and learning disabilities.
• Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Patience, flexibility, and a genuine passion for supporting students with special needs.
