Brea, CA: LOCAL candidates apply please. Great construction company is seeking an experienced and meticulous Accounting Manager to join a dynamic Finance Department. The role entails overseeing accounting and billing functions, providing essential reports and analysis for informed business decisions. Collaborating closely with the Controller and CFO, the Accounting Manager aims to enhance financial accounting and reporting processes. Additionally, they will liaise with other departments to ensure accurate and timely billing.
Responsibilities:
Supervise and evaluate two direct reports: an Accountant and an Accounts Payable Specialist.
Ensure accurate and punctual monthly billing to all funders.
Oversee Accounts Payable function and manage accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliation.
Lead the monthly financial close process and production of financial reports.
Manage and accurately record all organization deposits.
Collaborate with Resource Development to reconcile monthly activity.
Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements for accuracy and completeness.
Conduct audits on financial accounts to ensure compliance with regulations.
Provide financial analysis and collaborate with operations and program teams on billing and accounting matters.
Assist in implementing and maintaining adequate financial controls.
Aid in the annual budget process in conjunction with the Controller and CFO.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration is mandatory.
Requires 4-6 years or more of related experience, including 1-2 years of supervisory experience.
Preference for experience in public accounting and/or not-for-profit sectors.
Advanced proficiency in technology, particularly complex accounting and budgeting software like NetSuite, as well as Excel.
Familiarity with state grants and contracts is advantageous.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Excellent organizational and time management abilities are required.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent software is necessary.
